Wanderlust Fabric: Watercolor Roses Rayon Jersey Knit Lulu Dress

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

I have been anticipating this post for the last week, and I am so excited that the day has finally arrived! But first, if you haven't entered to win the Seashore Dress, Top & Tunic pattern, you can do so by clicking HERE

The next couple days are going to be dedicated to talking all about the up and coming online fabric store Wanderlust Fabrics. Let me start by saying I fell in love with Wanderlust when I first heard about them a couple months ago. I was browsing their store online and was very impressed with their selection of knits, then was even more smitten when I realized they also carried woven rayon challis. Score! I knew I wanted to order, but also wanted my fabric to be a surprise :)

I sent over an email and was responded minutes later by Angie. She too loved the whole idea of ordering surprise fabric, and quickly shipped out my package of secret goodies. It came so fast; like in 2 days fast! I was not only pleased with how quick my order came, but also their very reasonable shipping costs. When I opened up my package, I was presented with this gorgeous rayon jersey knit fabric. It is so soft and vibrant; very luscious on the skin too. The flowers had me swooning! I knew I had to showcase this floral fabric...

And what better way to do so with a Lulu dress?!?

For those of you who don't yet know how awesome this pattern by Jess over at Craftiness is not Optional is, you can see my full review HERE. I love the Lulu dress and top pattern! This is hands down my "go-to" for knit fabrics. When you want to showcase a fabric like the watercolor roses from Wanderlust Fabrics without having the design of the dress overpowering, the Lulu does the job.

From cut to clothing was a little under two hours, which for this busy mom is more than perfect. Sometimes with knits I lose time by having to rip a couple seams because my machine wants to eat the fabric if it's too thin. I can say that this rayon jersey knit was a dream to sew with. It has the perfect consistency that I like to use for knits, and the finished product is gorgeous with such fluidity.

Madison loves an outfit that is stylish, but most importantly... comfortable. This rayon jersey knit from Wanderlust Fabrics is so comfortable, that she hasn't taken it off. All day. I wouldn't be surprised if she sleeps in it :) So that for us is most definitely a high mark in our book.

I hope you enjoyed my first garment with the "Watercolor Roses" rayon jersey knit from Wanderlust Fabrics. Stay tuned for more during the week! Until then, I will leave you with a peaceful picture from M :)

  10. To try to spiff up my craft room, I once again used the Glidden Spanish Olive paint to improve my little storage box. It sits on my table right next to the sewing machine. I figured the file cabinet needed a little green and white friend. my homepage
