Perfect Pattern Parcel #5

Monday, September 22, 2014

Good morning my friends! Friday was the launch of Perfect Pattern Parcel #5, and I was beyond thrilled when Jill asked if I would be interested in promoting the release! I without a doubt said YES! This bundle is geared towards all the girls out there, but the kicker is that the patterns are sized from 18m-12yrs. Say what?! When you purchase Parcel #5, not only are your proceeds going towards a great cause, but you will get 5 (or 6 with the bonus) patterns that can grow with your daughter or loved one from toddler to teen. Don't know what the Perfect Pattern Parcel is? Let us bring you up to speed then!

How Pattern Parcel Works:

Here at Perfect Pattern Parcel, we believe in supporting independent pattern designers. It's our opinion that indie patterns are just, well, better than big box patterns, and we're pretty sure our customers think so too. So, we allow customers to show their support in naming their own price for each Parcel. We also encourage customers to allocate part of their Parcel price to the charity Donorschoose.org in order to help classrooms in need. Pattern Parcel donates all profits after expenses from Parcel sales to the charity as well. Together we've raised over $11,000 for classrooms in need!!!

Parcel #5 includes:
Lily Knit Blazer by Peek-a-boo Patterns
Everyday Yoga Pant for Girls by Greenstyle
Asymmetrical Drape Top by EYMM
Playhouse Dress by Fishstick Designs
Mimi Dress and Shirt by Filles a Maman

Bonus Pattern:

Choose a price of $28 or greater for Parcel #5 and you will automatically be sent the Bonus Pattern! The Bonus Pattern for this Parcel is the Sunki Dress by Figgy's. Fun pockets, a stylish silhouette, plus make it in knit or woven! Double the bonus! The pattern includes both size runs, so you get 18 months through a 16 tween sizing. This is awesome sauce

The first pattern I sewed up in Parcel #5 were the Everyday Yoga Pant by Greenstyle. What a QUICK sew. When I say quick, I mean this took less than 1 hour from cut to clothing. That is insanely fast!

For those of you who know a little bit about miss Madison, she is not a fan of jeans... whatsoever. She will have absolutely nothing to do with them lol These yoga pants are a great alternative to that problem! Normally she lives in skirts and shorts, so naturally I was a little hesitant to sew these up for her in fear of rejection. As you can see by the progression of photos below, Madison LOVED her yoga pants!!!

The main fabric is a beautiful ITY mint and white dotted jersey knit from Denver Fabrics. This was my first time sewing with this type of knit before, and it was gorgeous. I have 5 other prints in this style of knit and cannot wait to make Madison and her friend a couple more pairs of these yogis. The waistband was upcycled from a grey maternity shirt. It worked out perfectly since the band doesn't require much fabric at all!
