Have you heard of Pattern Revolution's Bundle Up sale? Today I am on their blog tour and have a super fabulous dress to show you! Bundle Up is all about bringing you the newest patterns from your favorite designers, but with an added twist. The more you bundle, the more you save!!! As most of these patterns are new releases, you are going to be getting great new patterns at an amazing discounted price. Click the link here to head on over and get bundling now! Let's move onto one of the fun patterns included in the bundle, the Annabelle Maxi Dress from Violet Field Threads.

Let me start by saying, all opinions about this dress are 100% my own. And with that being said,  I LOVE THIS PATTERN! Never have I ever actually sewed a Violet Field Threads pattern before. I have always been intimidated by their designs, and just gazed from a distance. When I picked this as my pattern to sew for Bundle Up, I was immediately drawn to the whimsical yet bohemian feel of the dress. Madison has never owned a maxi style dress, so I couldn't resist sewing something that was out of both our comfort zones.

The detailing on the bodice is quite beautiful. The Annabelle has the option to add lace, as well as piping. You can also leave off the bodice inset if you prefer, but I thought adding all the bells and whistles would be fitting for the look I was going for.

I love the chevron design in the skirt. This was another first for me (yes, I feel that I have had lots of sewing firsts while blogging, and I must say, I like it!) and I thought I would be scared by having to match up lines that formed the chevron, but the instructions were perfectly clear, and my lines matched almost perfectly. Deep down I was doing a major happy dance by how nice it all came together! The chevron panels were my favorite part of the pattern for sure. Oh, and lets talk fabric for a sec. How gorgeous are these?! Both prints are by Cotton + Steel, and I was blown away by the quality of the cotton. WOW! That was my first time ordering nice fabric, and it was for sure a treat to sew with. I have links to where I purchased them down towards the bottom.

And the shoulders?!?! This dress would make the perfect Anna dress from Frozen. I sewed up the size 6, and chose a size based on the measurements in the pattern. All went well, and the fit is great. Madison really likes the feel and fit of the dress too. That is always a plus! The Annabelle dress will be perfect for our Florida weather (most of the time) and I am excited to make more of these.
